About the event

"Some great comedians have come together to raise money for the encephalitis society. Nick Perring (my dad) collapsed whilst volunteering doing what he loved working at the South Devon Railway. He was intubated and in a coma where it was discovered he had an inflammation on the brain (encephalitic). He was in ICU for a couple of weeks before losing his battle at 62.

He was a loving father, and always looked out for me, supported me in everything I did. He also brought a smile to the room and loved to laugh. It felt only fitting to do a standup comedy night fundraiser with the support of some truly amazing comedians to raise awareness and spread the joy that is laughter.

Comedy was one of my lifelines during what was the hardest time of my life to date, and I have a wonderful circle of beautiful people.

If you can’t make the event, feel free to make a donation, as every penny counts. If anything, love hard and don’t waste time putting things off, because things can change in seconds. Then you’ll always wish you had said those things and done those things you thought you weren’t ready for. One day; they or you, may not be there to be a part of the beautiful thing that is life.

Let’s do it!!"
